UPDATE: ACL Live has added a second show at 9:30 p.m. on April 2.

From Omar L. Gallaga:

ACL Live and Live Nation announced Thursday morning that elusive stand-up comic Dave Chappelle will return to Austin for a 7 p.m. April 2 show at ACL Live.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

The comic’s last Austin show was as a headliner for the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival in August 2013 where he delivered a sometimes hilarious, sometimes puzzling set that did not so much conclude as dribble off to end the show at the Austin360 Amphitheater.

A previous Austin show a year before became infamous due to hecklers. Apparently, Chappelle’s act has sharpened since then. Here’s a review of a show from last fall in Hartford (another place where he had previously had a bad encounter with an audience).

Chappelle’s show will be sandwiched between two big Austin comedy events – SXSW Comedy this month and the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival on April 22-25.
